Jeff Ross

Jeff Ross has specialized in commercial litigation for the past 25 years. Presently, Jeff represents insurance companies, hedge funds, indenture trustees and high net worth individuals in large scale securities litigation disputes, including group claims against so-called Madoff feeder funds.

Recently, Jeff was co-lead counsel for institutional investors in a securities fraud action which resulted in a $140 million verdict, the second largest 10b-5 verdict nationwide, and the 17th largest jury verdict overall in 2008. The jury awarded 100% of the claimed damages. AIG Global Securities Lending Corp. v. Banc of America Securities LLC, 01 Civ. 11448 (S.D.N.Y.).

Jeff has recovered by judgment or settlement amounts totaling more than $500 million for his clients in notorious frauds such as Adelphia, WorldCom, HealthSouth and Sunbeam, in corporate indenture disputes involving Calpine Corp., Bearingpoint Inc., and Citadel Broadcasting Corp., and in other private litigation and arbitration. On the defense side, Jeff has an outstanding record of representing financial institutions and insurance companies in commercial disputes.

Jeff has more than twenty-five reported decisions in state and federal courts throughout the country. Jeff graduated Columbia University (1979) and the University of Minnesota Law School (1982). He is admitted to practice law in Minnesota and New York.
